About Chronicle Cinema
What video production services does Chronicle Cinema provide?
+
Commercials, branded content, documentaries, live and hybrid events, and original films. Our three verticals, Chronicle Curates (commercial & branded video), Chronicle Connects (live & virtual events), and Chronicle Creates (original film & documentary): deliver cinematic storytelling for any scale and purpose, supported by Studio C, our production hub. In-house capabilities run from art department and set building through original music composition, 2D and 3D animation, and custom graphics.
Where is Chronicle Cinema located?
+
Chronicle Cinema is based in Louisville, Kentucky, with a team of filmmakers and contractors worldwide. Whether your project is local or international, we can travel or coordinate remote production to fit your needs. In 2025 alone, our team worked from San Francisco to Singapore, Palm Springs to Boston, Denver to New York City, and Las Vegas to London.
How is Chronicle Cinema unique compared to other video production companies?
+
Storytelling is our essence. We blend cinematic craft with creative strategy, guiding every project from concept to completion. With directors, producers, and editors all in-house, we ensure a seamless, personal, and impactful process that moves and connects with audiences.
What cameras and equipment do you use?
+
The right camera for the job, not one camera for every job. Chronicle owns ARRI Alexa, Blackmagic URSA, DJI Ronin 4D, and Sony FX6 and FS7 packages, along with a range of Blackmagic cinema and broadcast cameras, with specialty and rental packages added when a project calls for them. All of our lighting, in the studio and in the field, is LED-controlled for precise color temperature, hue, brightness, and effects, and we carry a deep bench of professional audio equipment. For live events, Chronicle Connects fields full A/V, staging, and streaming systems.
How does Chronicle Cinema use AI in its creative process?
+
We use AI-empowered workflows to help our team work faster and smarter, without ever cutting corners on creativity or craft. AI tools assist with organization, transcription, visual planning, and post-production, so our filmmakers and editors stay focused on storytelling. Every project is still shaped by human vision, collaboration, and emotion. Read more in our AI Code of Ethics.
What is the typical turnaround time for a video project?
+
It depends on complexity and scope. A typical project runs about 4–8 weeks, for faster needs, our Chronicle XU Express Unit delivers cinematic-quality video in just 72 hours.
What industries do you work in?
+
A wide range: film and television, corporate marketing, live events, and branded storytelling. We’ve filmed across Louisville and major markets like New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, and Nashville, for clients in hospitality & restaurants (Texas Roadhouse, Hallmark), technology (HP, Meta, a16z portfolio companies), bourbon & spirits (Woodford Reserve, Angel’s Envy, Von Payne, Lunazul Tequila), corporate events (Meta, HP, Equip Expo), film & television, and education & nonprofit causes.
Chronicle Curates
Commercial & branded video
What types of commercial projects does Chronicle Curates produce?
+
Chronicle Curates specializes in commercials, branded content, and corporate videos that bring brand stories to life through cinematic storytelling. Our work ranges from short social spots and digital ads to full-scale national campaigns and documentary-style brand films.
Do you work directly with brands or through agencies?
+
Both. Chronicle Curates collaborates with marketing agencies, internal creative teams, and direct clients to produce videos that align seamlessly with your campaign goals. Whether you need full production support or a trusted creative partner for one part of the process, our team scales to fit your workflow.
Can Chronicle Cinema help develop creative concepts or scripts?
+
Yes. We often collaborate from the earliest stages of a campaign: refining messaging, writing scripts, and developing visual concepts that align with your brand’s identity and goals. Our creative team brings both storytelling experience and marketing insight to every project.
How long does it take to produce a commercial video?
+
Typical turnaround for a full commercial project is 4–8 weeks, depending on scope and complexity. For faster needs, our Chronicle XU Express Unit can deliver cinematic-quality video in as little as 72 hours: perfect for social campaigns, quick interviews, and marketing updates.
Can you help with social media versions of our videos?
+
Yes. Every platform has unique needs, so we deliver optimized versions of your content for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and other platforms. Ensuring your story looks and sounds its best no matter where it’s seen.
Do you offer post-production as a standalone service?
+
Absolutely. Our post-production team provides editing, color grading, motion graphics, and sound design for both in-house and external projects. Whether you filmed with us or elsewhere, we can elevate your footage with Chronicle Cinema’s cinematic polish.
Can you edit footage we shot ourselves?
+
Yes. Our edit suites take on editing, color, sound, and motion graphics for footage we didn’t shoot, and we regularly finish or rework projects that started elsewhere. Send us what you have and we’ll take a look before quoting.
Do you handle music licensing?
+
Yes. We license from multiple professional music libraries, can clear individual commercial songs when a project calls for one, and compose custom original music and scores in-house.
Do you provide captions or translations?
+
Yes. We provide captions either burned into the video or as a separate caption file, whichever your platform needs, and we can dub finished videos into other languages.
Do you offer aerial and drone cinematography?
+
Yes. Aerial cinematography is part of our regular toolkit, not a subcontract. Chronicle has two FAA Part 107 certified remote pilots on the team, we carry drone liability insurance, and we handle airspace authorizations from the FAA and work with venues on venue-specific restrictions when a location needs them. Aerials are flown by the same crew shooting the ground coverage, so the footage cuts together as one piece.
What types of clients do you work with?
+
Everyone from global brands to local businesses, marketing agencies, and nonprofits. All sharing a commitment to storytelling that connects. Our client list includes Meta, Hallmark, HP, Texas Roadhouse, Humana, Angel’s Envy, and Woodford Reserve, along with agencies such as Energy BBDO, RedTag Digital, FCB, and Doe Anderson, and nonprofit partners including The Epilepsy Foundation, The Trevor Project, GLAAD, and the American Heart Association.
Chronicle Connects
Live & virtual event production
What services do you provide for events?
+
We handle every production detail: multi-camera direction, live switching, lighting design, sound, staging, graphics packages, and post-event highlight reels. We also provide livestream integration and on-site technical support so your event runs seamlessly from start to finish.
What types of events does Chronicle Connects produce?
+
Live, hybrid, and virtual events of all sizes: from conferences, summits, and galas to brand activations and live broadcasts. Our team delivers cinematic-quality coverage and production support that engages audiences in the room and online.
Can you produce content during or immediately after the event?
+
Absolutely. Chronicle Connects offers same-day edits, social clips, and post-event sizzle reels, letting you share highlights within hours. Efficient workflows keep the content fresh and high-impact while your event momentum is still at its peak.
How much does event production cost?
+
Every event is unique: pricing depends on size, location, scope, and production requirements. We offer scalable packages from single-camera coverage to full-scale multi-day productions, and we’ll tailor a quote after learning your goals and timeline.
Can you produce events outside Louisville?
+
Yes. While our headquarters is in Louisville, Kentucky, our team routinely travels for productions in cities like New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Nashville. We’re fully mobile and equipped to manage events around the globe.
How does Chronicle Connects stand out from other event production companies?
+
We infuse cinematic storytelling into event production: treating every event like a live film, blending creativity, precision, and emotion to make each moment unforgettable. Our in-house team guarantees consistency and quality from planning to post-production.
Chronicle Creates
Original film & documentary
What types of projects does Chronicle Creates handle?
+
Chronicle Creates develops and produces original films, series, and documentaries that explore the human experience through cinematic storytelling. Projects range from independent features and docuseries to branded documentaries and collaborations with other filmmakers and studios.
Does Chronicle Creates work with outside filmmakers or production partners?
+
Yes. We often collaborate with writers, directors, producers, and production companies who share our passion for meaningful storytelling: producing it ourselves, co-producing a feature, developing a pilot, or contributing post-production expertise. Our team scales to support creative visions at every stage.
What makes Chronicle Creates different from other film production teams?
+
Chronicle Creates blends artistic storytelling and technical mastery with a human-centered creative process. Our in-house team manages every phase: from concept development to post-production: ensuring consistency, craft, and emotional authenticity. We believe powerful storytelling doesn’t just entertain; it changes the way people see the world.
Can Chronicle Creates help with development or funding?
+
We can assist with script development, budgeting, and pitch materials to help storytellers prepare their projects for funding. While we don’t provide direct financing or investment, we offer creative support and production expertise to help you position your project. We occasionally partner on select projects where there’s strong creative alignment, but our primary role is helping creators refine their story and materials so they can secure the right production or financing partners.
Do you offer equipment rentals or production management services?
+
Yes. Chronicle Cinema maintains a wide inventory of professional equipment for rent, ARRI Alexa, RED, Sony FX6, Ronin, Freefly Systems, and Blackmagic camera packages, plus lenses, LED lighting, audio, grip, and support gear. As full packages or individual items. We also offer production management and coordination: crew scheduling, call sheets, budgeting, logistics, and on-set supervision.
Studio C
The production hub
What is Studio C?
+
Studio C is Chronicle Cinema’s 6,355-square-foot creative hub for filmmakers, agencies, and brands. It includes a fully equipped soundstage, flexible production areas, edit suites, podcast rooms, live-streaming, and event space. All built to bring cinematic storytelling to life. See the Studio C page →
Where is Studio C?
+
Studio C is at 140 Spring St., Jeffersonville, Indiana: just minutes from downtown Louisville, Kentucky, and a block from the Big Four Walking Bridge, with easy access to highways, hotels, and restaurants.
What kind of productions can Studio C accommodate?
+
Commercial shoots, branded content, livestreams, interviews, product demos, and podcast or music sessions. The space can be reconfigured for virtual production, hybrid events, and private film screenings.
What equipment is available at Studio C?
+
An extensive inventory of professional-grade equipment: ARRI Alexa, RED, Sony FX6, Blackmagic, and Freefly Systems camera packages, plus lenses, lighting, grip, and audio gear. We also have a motorized jib arm, a podcast recording setup, and a 20′ motorized lighting grid.
Can I rent the space without hiring Chronicle Cinema’s crew?
+
Yes. Studio C can be rented space-only or with full production support. Many clients bring their own crews while using our in-house equipment, power, lighting grid, and support team. We can also provide producers, cinematographers, and technicians as needed.
How much does it cost to rent Studio C?
+
Pricing starts at $99 per hour for the podcast studio and $125 per hour for the main production studio. Day-rate, multi-day, and long-term packages are also available. Tell us what you need and we’ll tailor a quote. Book hourly on our Peerspace listing.
What amenities are included?
+
Restrooms, a client lounge, dressing and makeup areas, a kitchenette, and ample parking. High-speed fiber gigabit internet, blackout curtains, and climate control come standard. Additional studio spaces, private offices, and equipment can be added to your rental.
Do you build custom sets and virtual environments?
+
Both. Our in-house art department designs and builds physical sets for commercials, films, and events. For LED wall productions at Studio C, we also create custom 3D environments, so your world can be built digitally, practically, or as a mix of the two in the same shot.
What are the LED wall’s specs, and what format should my content be?
+
The wall is 18 feet wide by 9 feet tall (6 by 3 meters, precisely) and runs 3072×1536 pixels (2:1 ultrawide) on a Novastar MCTRL 4K processor, supporting frame rates from 23.98 to 60 fps. Content plays best encoded to Resolume DXV3 in a .mov container: the free Resolume Alley app converts most files. We also accept Apple ProRes 422 or 4444 and can convert in-house before your session, just allow extra time. A major expansion is coming late 2026: double the tiles, plus motion tracking and Unreal Engine live rendering.
Do you provide studio tours?
+
Yes. Free studio tours by appointment. We’ll walk you through layouts, gear, and booking options. Fill out the contact form on the Studio C page and a team member will respond within one business day.
Express Unit
The Chronicle Express Unit
What is the Chronicle Express Unit?
+
The Express Unit is our fast-turn production team, built for moments that can’t wait. The model is lean and repeatable: three cameras, a two-person crew, and a one-hour recording, delivered as finished, cinematic-quality video within 72 hours of the shoot wrapping, without the timeline or the budget of a full production. Think press announcements, social content, executive messages, and quick interviews.
Is the 72-hour turnaround really guaranteed?
+
Yes. The 72-hour clock starts the moment filming wraps: once the shoot is done, your finished video is delivered within 72 hours. It’s a guarantee, not a best-case. The whole unit is designed around hitting that window, from a repeatable shoot setup to an edit pipeline that’s ready before the camera stops rolling. For genuine same-day or next-day needs, ask us and we’ll tell you honestly what’s possible.
What kinds of projects is it best for?
+
Anything where speed matters and quality still can’t slip: press and news moments, product or funding announcements, social clips, recruiting and culture videos, executive and thought-leadership pieces, and podcast-style interviews. If a project needs elaborate sets, location scouting, or a large crew, that’s a full Chronicle Curates or Connects production instead. And we’ll point you there.
How do you move that fast without cutting corners?
+
Two ways. First, a repeatable setup: a dialed-in three-camera, podcast-style rig means we’re not reinventing the shoot each time. Second, an AI-accelerated post pipeline where a human approves everything before it ships. The software handles the mechanical work, our editors make every call that matters. The speed comes from the system, never from skipping review.
What does it cost, and what’s included?
+
The Express Unit is flat-rate, so you know the number before we start. No surprises on the invoice, and the same rate holds anywhere in the continental US. A standard package covers the shoot, three-camera coverage, and a finished edit delivered in both vertical and horizontal formats within 72 hours of the shoot wrapping. Add-ons like extra cutdowns, captions, or additional shoot time are quoted up front. Tell us the deliverable on the Express Unit page and we’ll send exact pricing.
Where do Express Unit shoots happen?
+
Anywhere in the continental United States, for one flat rate, from San Francisco to Boston, Denver to New York, Vegas to Nashville, our teams travel to you and the price is the same wherever the shoot lands, so there are no surprise travel line items. We come to your office, your event, or wherever the story is. Need a location too? We can help you source that too for an added fee.
Booking & pricing
Working with us
How do I book a video production service?
+
Contact us through the project form, email hello@chroniclecinema.com, or request a call. We’ll discuss your project details and provide a quote. Studio C bookings can be reserved hourly through our Peerspace listing.
How much does a video cost?
+
Every project is customized: cost depends on scope, creative direction, location, and timeline. We’re scalable, from hourly editing rates for post-production to flat-rate pricing through the Chronicle XU Express Unit and studio rentals through Peerspace. We can manage your entire production or collaborate with your existing team on a specific part of the process, then tailor a quote to your goals and budget.
How do revisions work?
+
Most projects include two rounds of revisions, though the number can flex up or down depending on the project. Every project is quoted custom, so revision rounds are defined up front in your quote, and anything beyond them is handled case by case rather than as a surprise.
Who owns the raw footage?
+
It depends on the agreement, and we put it in writing either way. In most projects, you receive a perpetual license to the raw footage while Chronicle retains ownership of the files. Clients who need to own the footage outright can: we write full ownership transfer into the contract. And on tightly scoped projects, the agreement may cover rights to the finished edit rather than the raw material. Whichever structure fits, it is settled in your contract before we roll.
What payment methods do you accept?
+
We accept ACH and bank transfers, PayPal, and all major credit cards. Some credit card transactions may incur a credit card processing fee. All transactions are conducted in USD.
Production incentives
Kentucky & Indiana film incentives

Two states, two programs. Chronicle Cinema is a Kentucky company operating Studio C in Southern Indiana, so we’re fluent in both. And we’ll help you weigh which fits. We connect you with the right resources and program contacts; we don’t provide tax or legal advice directly.

Does Kentucky offer a film tax incentive?
+
Yes, Kentucky offers one of the most competitive refundable film incentives in the country: 30% on qualified Kentucky expenditures and non-resident labor, and 35% on Kentucky-resident labor and productions filmed in enhanced-incentive counties. It’s refundable and non-transferable, with qualifying spend thresholds starting around $125,000 for Kentucky-based productions and $250,000 for out-of-state productions, under a $75 million annual state cap. Eligible projects include films, documentaries, series, and commercials. Program terms change. Confirm current details before relying on them.
Can Chronicle Cinema help my production use the Kentucky incentive?
+
As a Kentucky-based company, Chronicle Cinema can help productions shooting in Kentucky connect with the right resources to explore and apply for the incentive. We don’t provide tax or legal advice directly. We point you to the appropriate program contacts and professionals. The Kentucky credit applies to qualifying Kentucky-based production spend. Not to studio bookings at Studio C, which is in Indiana (see the Indiana credit below).
Does Indiana offer a film tax credit?
+
Yes, Indiana’s updated Film and Media Tax Credit took effect January 1, 2026, administered by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC). It provides a base credit of 20% on qualified production expenditures, which can rise to as much as 30% with bonuses for hiring Indiana residents, using in-state post-production, and featuring Indiana branding. The credit is transferable, capped at $250,000 per project under a $2 million annual statewide cap, and runs through July 1, 2031. Because the statewide cap is modest, timing and early application matter. Since Studio C is in Jeffersonville, Indiana, qualifying work produced there may fit the Indiana program. Program terms change. Confirm current details before relying on them.
Kentucky or Indiana. Which incentive fits my production?
+
It depends on where the qualifying spend happens. Productions shooting in Kentucky look to Kentucky’s refundable 30–35% credit; work produced at Studio C in Southern Indiana looks to Indiana’s new transferable credit. As a Kentucky company operating a studio in Indiana, Chronicle Cinema is fluent in both and can help you understand which path fits. Then connect you with the right resources to apply.
Let’s make something iconic.
