It’s Halloween night, and the Insurance Man is home denying claims, until the doorbell brings him face to face with his nemesis. Chronicle Cinema wrote and produced the spot on a practical porch built on Studio C’s rotating stage, with the LED wall extending the neighborhood behind it.
After Are You Okay?, Isaacs & Isaacs gave Chronicle some latitude to try something different: a Halloween spot that is fun, not scary, built around a villain everyone already fears. The Insurance Man. It needed a full suburban Halloween night, interior and exterior, shot in the middle of August with broadcast versions for Kentucky and Indiana plus a radio companion, all ready well before the season.
Chronicle wrote the script and built the set that could carry it: a practical front porch and working front door, constructed on Studio C’s rotating stage. Every beat of the spot happens at that door, so the build let the cameras play both sides of it, the Insurance Man’s lavish foyer inside and the trick-or-treaters on the porch outside, grounding the whole night in something real the actors could touch.
The LED wall extended the set past the build: a glowing Halloween street behind the porch, dressed with practical inflatables, tombstones, and a yard of decorations layered between the door and the wall for depth. The whole haunt, from the fairy’s first doorbell to three Little Darryls announcing “WeWin.com,” was captured in a single afternoon, with the kids wrapped by 4 PM.
A :60 film and :30 broadcast versions airing across Kentucky and Indiana for the Halloween season, with a radio spot to match. It ends the way an Isaacs & Isaacs spot should: the real Darryl at his own front door, full-size candy bars in hand, reminding everyone that insurance companies don’t have to be scary.
