How do you impress some of the world’s top tech leaders and investors? a16z has trusted Chronicle Cinema with that question every year since 2021, and in 2025, at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas, the answer filled every screen in the building.
How do you impress a room full of the world’s top tech leaders and investors? That was the original mission. The LP Summit gathers a16z’s most important audience, its limited partners, for a high-stakes, time-sensitive moment, and every year the stakes get higher. The content couldn’t look like event coverage; it had to be cinematic, on-brand, and worthy of the room. And it couldn’t arrive weeks later; the value was in getting it live while the room was still full, without shipping a single frame that hadn’t been cleared.
The work ran on two fronts. Before the summit, Chronicle designed and rendered the content for the room itself: the five-screen LED canvas, the show bumpers, and the speaker intro films. During the summit, we ran an on-site content team and edit bay: multi-cam crews captured keynotes and panels at broadcast grade, and an AI-assisted, human-approved edit workflow cut finished clips in real time, with legal review built in, so speakers had cleared, ready-to-post content in hand before they left the building.
Bumpers, sizzles, and speaker cutdowns were cut, cleared by legal, and posted within the hour of each speaker leaving the stage, content live in the feed while the room was still buzzing, not a week after the moment had passed. Across the firm, the same team has produced brand films, event sizzle reels, and podcast recordings for a16z and its practices.
The 2025 summit anchored a landmark year for the firm: a16z went on to close just over $15 billion in new funds, one of the largest raises in venture capital history, representing more than 18% of all U.S. venture fundraising that year, pushing the firm past $90 billion in assets under management. The summit is where that story gets told to the people who fund it, and Chronicle has been trusted to build that room’s content every year since 2021.
Inside the Fontainebleau theater, the stage was built as five massive LED screens, and Chronicle rendered a different video to each one, composed so the five together read as a single, continuous canvas. At its center: a dimensional 3D medallion built for the Fontainebleau’s 68-foot-wide, 40-foot-tall main LED wall. Design Foundry designed the set, Glow Motion Technologies flew a moving chandelier through the space, and MSI (Meeting Solutions Inc.) produced the event. The result was a room where the content, the set, and the lighting moved as one visual experience, extended to screens across the entire casino.
Each keynote arrived on stage behind a custom intro film, cut to the canvas and to hype the moment. Check out these two, for Alex Blania and Fei-Fei Li.
Five screens, a flying chandelier, a room of the hardest people on earth to impress, and a team that had it cut, cleared, and on screen before the applause faded. When the stakes are this high, Chronicle Cinema comes through.
